ABOUT THIS SERIES
Surrender sounds like defeat. But what if it’s the only path to freedom? This series explores the radical act of releasing control to God.
You plan, you strategize, you grip tightly. But the more you try to control your life, the more it slips away.

VOICES IN THIS SERIES
THE ULTIMATE SURRENDERER
“Not my will, but yours be done.”
In the Garden of Gethsemane, Jesus demonstrated what perfect surrender looks like. Though fully God, He was also fully human, experiencing real anguish at the prospect of the cross. Yet He chose the Father’s will over His own.
DAY 1
THE WATCHMAKER WHO HID JEWS
“There is no pit so deep that God’s love is not deeper still.”
Corrie ten Boom and her family risked everything to hide Jewish refugees during World War II. Their love for God compelled them to love their neighbors, even at the cost of their freedom and lives.
DAY 2
THE FORMER SLAVE TO PASSION
“Lord, grant me chastity and continence, but not yet.”
Augustine was a brilliant young man enslaved to his own desires. His journey from bondage to freedom through surrender to Christ became one of the most influential testimonies in Christian history.
DAY 3
THE FIRST SURRENDERED COMMUNITY
“All the believers were one in heart and mind.”
The early church in Jerusalem after Pentecost demonstrated what happens when individual surrender becomes communal—radical generosity, deep fellowship, and explosive growth.
DAY 4
THE RELUCTANT PROPHET
“Salvation comes from the Lord.”
Jonah is the only prophet in Scripture who ran from God’s direct command. His story is a sobering reminder that non-surrender has consequences—not just for us, but for everyone around us.
DAY 5
THOSE WHO LOVED UNTO DEATH
“See how these Christians love one another!”
During the plagues of the second and third centuries, Christians risked their lives to care for the sick and dying—including pagans who had been abandoned by their own families. Their sacrificial love became the most powerful witness to the gospel.
