And in a fracturing world, they became the answer to the question:

These are your people.

THE DIFFERENT KIND OF BELONGING

Jesus didn't build a network. He built a family.

Not biological. Not transactional. Covenantal.

The early followers of Jesus didn't just meet for services. They shared meals, resources, lives. When persecution came, they didn't scatter—they hid together. When poverty hit, they pooled funds. When empire crushed them, they carried each other.

They were bound by something stronger than utility.

They belonged to each other because they first belonged to God.

And that kind of belonging doesn't evaporate when you stop being useful.

It's the difference between a network and a covenant.

One scatters. The other remains.

THE INVITATION

God,

I'm surrounded by people but I'm alone. My network is full but shallow. When I needed real help, everyone scattered.

I'm tired of transactional connections. I'm tired of performing to stay valuable.

You say there's a different kind of belonging. Covenant, not contract. People who stay, not just when I'm useful.

Show me what that looks like.
