Matthew 18:33 (BSB) – Shouldn’t you have had mercy on your fellow servant, just as I had on you?
What do you do with what others owe you, once you have been forgiven?
Peter asks how many times he has to forgive, and Jesus answers with a story. A servant owes a king ten thousand talents, a sum no one could repay, and the king forgives all of it. Then the servant meets a man who owes him a hundred denarii. Seven days from Monday follow that parable through a count, a debt, a hand at a throat, five things forgiveness is not, and a prayer for the morning, with Joseph, Paul, the psalms and some honest stories. Forgiven people become forgiving people, and mercy is given to us before it is asked of us.
