ABOUT THIS SERIES
Nearness was always the point, and for most of the Bible it was rationed on purpose. One priest, one room, one day a year — an honest system that said its own ceiling out loud. Then a man on a cross said one word, and a curtain tore from the top down, and Hebrews stops to tell you what the curtain was: his flesh. This week runs from a shut gate in Genesis to a city with no temple in it, and the hinge is a Wednesday afternoon.
For anyone who believes the theology of access and still approaches God carefully, building a case. The week does not rush to comfort. It spends a full day inside the otherness of God, because the invitation on Thursday only means as much as Tuesday was real. It ends without a task: a sabbath, four words from the last chapter of the Bible, and nothing asked of you.
