Sabbath
And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
There is no teaching today. The week said what it had to say. Sit somewhere quiet for ten unhurried minutes. Do not review the week. Do not work out what to do with it. On Thursday you read about Moses asking to see God’s glory, and being told that no man sees His face and lives. He was put in a cleft of rock, covered by a hand, and shown the back of it. That was the best the old covenant could do, for the man who knew God best. The last chapter of the Bible has four words that answer him. They shall see his face. No cleft. No covering hand. No glimpse of the back of it as the glory goes past. A face, seen. That is where all of this has been going the whole time — past permission, past access, past even boldness, to the plainest kind of nearness there is. Two people who can look at each other. So today, nothing is asked of you. No task, no application, no next step. James says draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you, which is the only instruction on the page, and it is not really an instruction so much as a description of what happens. Sit still. He is not far off.
PRAYER
Father, I have nothing to bring today and nothing to finish. Thank You that the way is open, that it was opened from Your side, and that it stays open while I am not thinking about it. I will sit here a while. Amen.

And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb. In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations. And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him: And they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.
Revelation 22:1-4 (KJV)
The tree from Genesis 3, growing in a public street, with no guard mentioned and the curse lifted.
REFLECT
Nothing to answer today. Just sit with the four words: they shall see his face.

Prayer
Lord, the week began with two people hiding among trees and it ends with a tree standing in the open street. Thank You that the gate was never reopened, because a better way was made instead. I am not going to ask You for anything today. Amen.
BREATH PRAYER
Draw nigh — He draws nigh.
